What really matters
When all is said and done?
Is it the things we've acquired
Or the honors we've won?
What really matters
In the eyes of our Lord?
Is it the praises of men
Or the treasures we hoard?
When our Lord comes to take us,
Will He care one bit
About the things we hold dear
Or those we will miss?
When we're finally called home,
Will it matter to Him
About the things we've possessed
Or the places we've been?
What really matters?
Ask yourself if there's doubt --
Will it matter to Him?
If not, cast it out.
